Quantifying EGJ morphology and relaxation with high-resolution manometry:  a study of 75 asymptomatic volunteers” is published in the American Journal of Physiology using data collected with SSI’s High-Resolution 36 channel solid-state catheter and the ManoViewTM analysis software.

SSI is represented at the Society of GI Digestive Disorders Conference in France.  ManoScan 360™ HRM system continued to impress physicians and technicians at this meeting.  Several papers were presented highlighting the use of HRM in diagnosing motility disorders.

  Production Milestone – 200th Catheter & 100th ManoScan System Shipped!

SSI is represented at the BSG by SynMed, UK and live patient demonstration with lecture is well attended. Dr. Mark Fox narrated a live patient demonstration and presented several case studies using the ManoScan 360™ HRM system. Physicians and motility technicians from the UK were in attendance at this special lecture session and were quite responsive to the new technology.

President and CEO, Thomas Parks, PhD, announces Jeffrey Sawyer BSAME as new Director of Product Marketing and Development.   Jeff's experience spans more than 18 years in the medical product industry with substantial involvement in GI diagnostics. He has intimate knowledge of and proven abilities in product development, clinical application and training, and sales and marketing management within this industry. Jeff leads marketing and certain product development activities for the company.

May - Washington, DC – Digestive Disease Week – AGA

 

SSI launched several new product areas. Physicians, nurses and technicians crowded in to the SSI booth to see the latest additions to the product line.  New product announcements included the AccuTrac™ pH and impedance ambulatory monitoring system and the AccuFet™ ISFET ph and impedance catheters. New AccuView software analysis presents impedance in color contours and makes physician review of these ambulatory studies faster and more complete. A new modular workstation was also introduced to accommodate both current and future product modules for HRM. The first High Definition images of the esophageal-gastric junction were displayed using the new High Definition flexible probe which is still in development for more complete assessment of the esophageal junction and upper esophageal sphincter.

SSI has special live patient procedure and presentation for attendees of the National SGNA meeting.  Nurses and technicians were amazed by the relative ease and simplicity of the ManoScan 360™ system.  Many attendees commented favorably on the 4 to 5 minute data acquisition time in contrast to the typical 20 to 30 minute data acquisition time required for competitors systems.  The new modular workstation was well received and inquiries for all SSI products were at a new high during this meeting.
